WEEE Stakeholder Consultation Announced by BERR

The Department of Business, Environment and Regulatory Reform (BERR) announced that the stakeholder consultation of the European Parliament and of the Council on WEEE needs to be completed and returned by the 5th June 2008.

If you decide to take part in the consultation, the following has been stated within the document:

It is of paramount importance that any opinion is supported by detailed evidence you currently hold as the Commission services will base their analysis of issues and selection of options for amendment on factual evidence on the economic, social and environmental impacts of the policy options

The Commission would like to receive any additional quantitative data, studies and evaluations which will allow them to analyse the full costs and benefits of potential changes in the option of the Directive.
