Green Grants Machine Website launched
Finding grants for environmental projects can be a tiresome and longwinded activity, but a new website has been launched which may provide a short-cut.
The Green Grants website was launched last month (May 2008). It provides access to a FREE green funding database to find grants, loans and awards available to help your business go green and save on energy bills. You simply run a search and save it to your profile to receive automatic updates that will let you know when new grants that match your profile are launched, as well as any changes made to existing schemes.
The information on the Green Grants Machine site is updated daily and the website features more than 350 funding schemes available from local, regional, national and European sources. The website also includes plain English advice about how any organisation can take simple actions to go green.
The site offers free access to information on the wide range of funding available to support businesses looking to go green. Businesses considering large scale initiatives like generating their own energy from renewable sources or developing new clean technologies will find the latest fund information they need. Whilst smaller measures such as introducing a recycling scheme in the office or converting fleet vehicles to clean fuel are also catered for. The website also features a green funding news and grant alert service to make sure that users keep up with all the latest developments in environmental business funding.
The team at DARP have been testing this website since it was launched and are pleased to be able to recommend the site to other business. It is the first time that much of the information has been available from a free online database instead of a subscription-only basis.
Clearly, this site is a marketing and information gathering tool for the private consultancy company j4b, and their associate organisation Ci Research, who own and manage the site. We would imagine that the hope would be that organisations identify a suitable funding route from the website and approach these companies for additional support in making applications. However, no unsolicited contact is made after using the site and what you do with the information obtained is up to you.
