Brokerage and Collection

By working in partnership with existing and new entries to the recycling sector, DARP is now able to provide some of the lowest costs for recycling products and materials that you no longer require throughout the UK, supported by a UK wide logistical infrastructure.

As a Recycling Broker and Collector DARP can now make arrangements on behalf of others to handle, transport, dispose or recover materials or products that are suitable for recycling. As a broker DARP shares responsibility for the proper transfer of the recyclable products or materials with the holders before and after its transfer. Because we control what happens to these products or material, we are legally responsible for the arrangement.

DARP have registered with the Environment Agency to provide this service, and are fully licensed to broker and transport recyclate for proper treatment within the UK.

All of our Approved Treatment Facilities are fully licensed in accordance with UK legislation and we also undertake independent assessment of their processes to ensure that they reach the high processing standards that we expect.

We are currently able to broker and collect the following products and materials: -

Separated Materials or components: -
  • Plastics
  • Glass
  • Wood
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Metals and cabling
  • Batteries
  • Separated Hazardous Wastes
Products: -
  • Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) from business and private households (for example, washing machines, fridges, industrial tools and equipment, televisions and monitors, computer equipment, office equipment)
  • Most other large industrial or consumer products (for example, Beds, Furniture)

We do not deal with Construction Materials, End of Life Vehicles or Mixed Waste Streams or any product that cannot be recycled and must go to landfill.

All of our clients benefit from our exacting legislative compliance, with full information provided on the recycling route to enable businesses to fully comply with their Duty of Care. In addition we provide legislative compliance services, to ensure all of our clients are in full compliance to the Hazardous Waste Regulations and the WEEE Regulations. We shall also be expanding this service for other forthcoming environmental legislation.
